AWS aims to become 'water positive' by 2030

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is set to replenish an estimated 1.5 billion litres of freshwater annually across five countries as part of its water sustainability initiatives. The company plans to invest in agricultural, irrigation, and leak detection projects in Australia, India, Indonesia, Spain, and the U.S. with the aim of becoming "water positive" by 2030. AWS has not specified the volume of replenished water needed to achieve this goal but is committed to disclosing progress using the Volumetric Water Benefit Accounting method. Current projects include initiatives in Virginia, Australia, India, Indonesia, Spain, and a nature restoration project in Australia supporting endangered species. (GreenBiz)
