Biden administration announces $95m for fish passage projects

The US government has allocated $95m to new fish passage projects, including initiatives focused on Tribal priorities. These efforts, funded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, aim to restore migratory pathways and support sustainable fisheries. NOAA Fisheries will offer grants of $750,000 to $8m for general projects and $300,000 to $6m for Tribal-focused projects. To date, $985m has been awarded for fish passage improvements. The funding aims to enhance community resilience, boost local economies, and combat climate change impacts. Proposals for these grants are due in early 2025. (Seafood Source
