# Blue Marine Foundation releases 2023 report

The Blue Marine Foundation has launched their 2023 annual report. The report outlines the foundation's purpose, striving for clean and healthy oceans. To achieve this goal, they are aiming to ensure the protection of at least 30% of the ocean by 2030 while supporting coastal communities through the recovery of marine biodiversity. Key strategies include helping establish Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), tackling overfishing and restoring marine habitats. In 2023, The Blue Marine Foundation proposed 9000 km2 of ocean for protection, deployed over 70,000 native oysters throughout the UK and reached over 290 schools with educational activities and materials.
