Canada supports sustainable aquaculture innovation in Asia-Pacific

Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC) is funding a new project to promote sustainable aquaculture in the Asia-Pacific region through the creation of an Aquaculture Innovation and Investment Centre in Thailand. Asia-Pacific produces over 90% of the world's farmed aquatic food, but unchecked growth may harm the environment. In collaboration with the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Network of Aquaculture Centres in Asia-Pacific (NACA), the project aims to scale green innovations such as eco-friendly fish feed and nature-based solutions. It will also help governments in Fiji, Thailand, and the Philippines develop greener aquaculture strategies. (We Are Aquaculture
