# UK government unveil 'CCUS Vision' for carbon capture market with £20bn investment

The UK government unveils the CCUS Vision, a strategic plan to establish a competitive Carbon Capture, Usage, and Storage (CCUS) market by 2035, following an unprecedented £20 billion investment. The vision outlines a timeline, emphasising competition to lower industry costs, with the potential to store carbon equivalent to removing 6 million cars by 2030, supporting 50,000 jobs. The plan positions the UK as a global leader in CCUS technology, leveraging its unique geology and infrastructure. Long-term goals include a £5 billion annual boost to the economy by 2050, contributing to net-zero commitments, while practical measures involve a competitive allocation process and diverse transport solutions.
