China's first large-scale deep-water offshore solar project reaches operational readiness
China's first large-scale, pile-fixed deep-water offshore photovoltaic (PV) project has achieved a key milestone with the energisation of its booster station, marking the project’s operational readiness. The CGN Yantai Zhaoyuan 400 MW floating solar project, located in Laizhou Bay, covers 6.44 sq km and features 121 PV sub-arrays using Grand Sunergy’s Seapower double-sided, double-glass heterojunction (HJT) solar modules. Designed to withstand the harsh marine environment, the modules offer enhanced resistance to salt spray, corrosion, and UV radiation. As China continues to lead the global floating solar market, this project underscores its significant role in the sector's anticipated growth. (
