Denmark launches it's largest offshore wind tender

Denmark has initiated its most substantial offshore wind tender, offering six sites with a potential combined capacity of up to 10 gigawatts (GW) by 2030, without providing subsidies. The ambitious move aligns with Denmark’s goal to reduce CO2 emissions by 70% from 1990 levels by the decade's end. Participants in the tender are required to propose the price they will pay the state for a 30-year project stake, with the state retaining a 20% interest in each project. The strategy could significantly exceed Denmark's energy needs, allowing for green power export or hydrogen production. (Reuters)
