# DNV updates rules to support clean technologies and improve clarity for ship operators

DNV has released updates to its classification rules for ships and offshore structures, focusing on clean technologies and operational clarity. The new "in-operation class framework" includes notations for existing fleets, enabling owners to demonstrate advanced procedures and safety. Key innovations include the "Gas Fueled Hydrogen" notation for hydrogen-powered vessels and "OCCS" for onboard carbon capture and storage. Additional updates cover boil-off gas control, live fish transport, stability pontoons, hatchcoverless vessels, floating spaceports, fire safety for electric vehicle transport, and revised diving system rules.
