EIF backed fund raises €93mn for sustainable aquaculture

The Blue Revolution Fund (BRF), led by Irish venture capital firm Hatch Blue, has closed at €93m ($98.5m), surpassing its €75m target. Investors include the European Investment Fund (€20m) and the Irish Strategic Investment Fund (€15m). BRF supports sustainable aquaculture, focusing on next-generation fish farms, regenerative seaweed, and alternative seafood. The fund aligns with the EU Green Deal and has invested in six companies. According to The Nature Conservancy, aquaculture, now exceeding wild fisheries in seafood production, faces investor challenges due to complex supply chains and environmental risks. BRF aims to mitigate these while promoting ESG goals such as carbon reduction and sustainable job creation. (Impact Investor
