EverLoNG onboard carbon capture test shows promise
Researchers have reported promising results in the first phase of a carbon capture test for maritime use. The EverLoNG project, involving global industry leaders and government funding, achieved capture rates of up to 85% aboard the LNG carrier Seapeak Arwa. The test, capturing 250kg of CO2 per day over 1,000 hours, aims to optimise ship-based carbon capture. The next stage involves transferring captured CO2 for utilisation or storage. The project, led by TNO, seeks to demonstrate and integrate shipboard carbon capture, contributing to regulatory frameworks and the advancement of CCUS technology in the maritime sector. (
