Fiji seeks collaboration with China in sustainable aquaculture and fisheries development

Fiji is exploring collaboration opportunities with China in ecological conservation, eco-friendly aquaculture, and fish farming to advance its fisheries sector. During a visit to Ninghai Village in Fujian Province, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka highlighted the successful fish farms in the region as a model for poverty alleviation and economic development. Rabuka emphasised that Fiji's coastal communities could benefit from similar marine fish farming projects, which would promote sustainable practices, enhance marine conservation, and foster knowledge-sharing between the two nations. The collaboration aligns with Fiji's goal of creating a more resilient, productive, and sustainable fisheries sector that supports livelihoods and economic growth. (Fiji Village)
