Global support for IPOS gathers pace

Monaco reaffirmed its support during the UN General Assembly, with Prince Albert II advocating for a dedicated expert group under UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission. Meanwhile, Canada and France announced collaborative efforts to advance IPOS, focusing on challenges like climate change and overfishing. IPOS aims to consolidate global ocean data and provide actionable insights, bridging science and policy. It will be a focal point at the 2025 UN Ocean Conference, shaping future ocean governance.
