Harbour Energy submit application for 55km CO2 pipeline
Harbour Energy, the operator of the proposed Humber-based Viking Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project in eastern England, has submitted its application for the construction of a 55-km onshore pipeline to the UK's Planning Inspectorate. The pipeline will transport CO2 captured from the Immingham industrial area to the former Theddlethorpe gas terminal site on the Lincolnshire coast, and then to the depleted Viking gas fields, 2.7 km beneath the seabed, for permanent storage. The application marks the next stage in acquiring a development consent order for the pipeline, following consultations and engagement with relevant parties. (
