Innovasea partners with Thor Salmon to launch land-based aquaculture systems in Iceland
Innovasea, a leading aquaculture technology firm, has launched its land-based aquaculture systems in Iceland through a partnership with Thor Salmon. The Icelandic company will incorporate Innovasea's Gas Management Towers (GMT) at its new smolt facility in Thorlakshofn, aiming to produce 20,000 tonnes of salmon annually. Innovasea’s energy-efficient GMT system reduces energy costs by up to 77%, using gravity rather than pressurised systems. Thor Salmon will also install Innovasea's dissolved oxygen sensors and automated control panels to optimise operations. Innovasea has partnered with Icelandic tech company KAPP to support and service these new technologies locally. (
