Kindon’s offshore green methanol production platform gets approval

RINA, an Italian classification society, has granted Approval in Principle (AiP) to Kindon New Energy Technology (Jiangsu) for its innovative offshore platform designed to produce green methanol. The platform utilises direct air capture (DAC) technology to obtain renewable CO2 and green hydrogen produced via electrolysis powered by offshore wind. The process, which synthesises methanol from hydrogen and CO2 under specific conditions, is entirely sustained by renewable energy sources, ensuring all electrical needs are met. (Offshore Energy)
