MingYang launches world's most powerful offshore wind turbine

Mingyang Smart Energy has introduced a 22MW offshore wind turbine, the MySE 22MW, designed for high-wind regions. It is touted as the world's most powerful offshore turbine with a rotor diameter exceeding 310 meters and is suited for areas with average wind speeds ranging from 8.5 meters per second to 10 meters per second. The turbine is typhoon-resistant, suitable for fixed-bottom and floating applications, and features carbon-fibre blades for strength, weight, and corrosion resistance. Production has begun at Mingyang's Inner Mongolia base, and the turbine is set for development between 2024 and 2025. (reNews)
