Purina Europe joins Norwegian Marine Restoration Initiative
Purina Europe has become a founding member of the Norwegian Marine Restoration Initiative (NoMaRe), which aims to restore Norway's kelp forests, crucial for marine biodiversity and carbon sequestration. NoMaRe addresses the decline of these ecosystems, driven by human activities and overgrazing by sea urchins, through practical restoration efforts, policy advocacy, and funding from both public and private sectors. Purina's involvement aligns with its broader Ocean Restoration Programme, enhancing marine habitat restoration across Europe. The collaboration with NoMaRe’s partners, including The Bellona Foundation, seeks to accelerate research, knowledge sharing, and large-scale restoration to deliver significant environmental benefits for Norway.
