Ocean Cleanup launches its 'Interceptor Barricade' to remove river plastics

The Ocean Cleanup, known for collecting marine plastic waste, has expanded its mission to rivers with the Interceptor Barricade. After the initial "TrashFence" prototype faced challenges, the revamped “Interceptor Barricade" aims to intercept riverborne trash. The organisation, having removed 7,395,373 kg of waste from oceans and rivers, envisions a combined strategy using u-barriers at sea and Interceptors at the top 1,000 polluting rivers' mouths to eliminate up to 90% of marine plastic waste by 2040.  (Suston Magazine)
