Organic Sea Harvest introduces new semi-hybrid vessel to enhance operations

Organic Sea Harvest (OSH) has introduced the semi-hybrid power vessel, Arthur Douglas, into its fleet through a partnership with Inverlussa Marine Services. Built by Nauplius Workboats, the 21-metre vessel will serve OSH’s salmon farming sites off the Isle of Skye. It marks OSH’s first use of a semi-hybrid vessel, designed to reduce noise and fuel consumption. The vessel features a battery pack that stores excess energy for use in port, enabling generator shutdowns. Custom-built for aquaculture, it boasts a 90-tonne deck cargo capacity, a 15-tonne deck winch, and twin cranes. (Fishfarming Expert)
