Philippines seaweed project shortlisted for Earthshot Prize

Coast 4C, an Australian organisation collaborating with coastal communities in the Philippines to develop sustainable seaweed supply chains, has been named a finalist for the Earthshot Prize in the Revive Our Oceans category. Since its founding in 2020, Coast 4C has supported 680 households in regenerative seaweed farming and protected nearly 5,900 hectares of coastal zones. Winning the £1m ($1.3m) prize could accelerate its expansion into Indonesia and enhance its impact across its 4Cs framework – Community, Commerce, Conservation and Climate. The initiative has already increased sales twelvefold this year and aims to break even within the next 12 months. (The Fish Site)
