SAIC secures £1.5m funding to advance sustainability

The Sustainable Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC) has received £1.5m ($1.9m) in funding to enhance fish sustainability efforts. The support will build on SAIC’s decade-long work, which has already turned £10m into £71m worth of research. The new funding, including a minimum of £800,000 for business and higher education projects, aims to address challenges such as climate change impacts on fish health. SAIC has supported over 100 projects, resulting in spin-out companies and new products. The initiative, backed by the Scottish Government and SFC, reinforces the commitment to sustainable aquaculture and innovative solutions for the sector’s future. (Deadline News)
