# Scotland targets carbon capture expansion in its new Green Industrial Strategy

Scotland’s new Green Industrial Strategy outlines the government’s priorities as it looks to enhance its green economy, focusing on offshore wind, carbon capture, hydrogen production, and green financial services. The strategy aims to expand offshore wind infrastructure, creating jobs and boosting Scotland’s clean energy production. Carbon capture is also central, leveraging Scotland’s geological strengths to reduce CO2 emissions domestically and across Europe. Hydrogen production will be supported by new production hubs, utilising the country’s renewable energy capacity. Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes emphasised the strategy’s commitment to reducing investment barriers, while industry leaders urged alignment with Scotland's broader energy and just transition plans for a clean energy future.
