Scotland to host world's largest offshore floating wind farm
Scotland is set to establish the world's largest offshore floating wind farm off the coast of Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. Named Green Volt, the project will feature up to 35 turbines, generating 560 MW of energy, surpassing the current largest development in Norway. The significant advancement, part of the Innovation and Target Oil and Gas leasing round by Crown Estate Scotland, aims to provide energy to offshore oil and gas platforms as well as the UK grid. The project underscores Scotland's commitment to becoming a global leader in offshore wind technology and its broader strategy to meet stringent carbon reduction targets. (
