Storms in Norway drive up salmon prices
Severe storms in Norway have halted salmon farming and transport, causing a 4.5% increase in fresh salmon prices, reaching NOK 109.18/kg ($10.35). Fresh salmon exports dropped by nearly 12% to 13,511 tonnes. It's uncertain if this price surge is temporary or part of a longer trend. Nordea Markets predicts continued price increases due to stagnant global production. Frozen salmon, was less affected and saw stable prices. Strong demand from Europe, the US, and China persists, prompting optimism among major industry players, with potential share price hikes projected by Nordea Markets. (
