TotalEnergies supplies first 100% biofuel cargo for ships in Singapore

TotalEnergies has delivered its first 100% biofuel cargo for ships in Singapore, marking a significant step in its efforts to expand the supply of lower-carbon marine fuels. The 700-metric tonne cargo, made from used cooking oil sourced in Southeast Asia, was supplied to a Hyundai Glovis car carrier and is certified under the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) system. This biofuel, known as B100, can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% to 90% on a life-cycle basis. As demand for alternative marine fuels grows in Singapore, TotalEnergies anticipates that marine biofuel demand could reach nearly 1 million metric tonnes by 2025. (Reuters)
