UK partners with New Zealand to develop offshore wind energy sector

The UK government has announced plans to collaborate with New Zealand to advance its offshore wind energy sector. A report by energy consultancy Xodus highlights New Zealand's potential, with its 15,000 km of coastline and world-class wind resources. Although New Zealand is in the early stages of its wind power journey, the UK, with 13.9 GW of offshore wind capacity, is aiming to share its expertise. The partnership will focus on financing, supply chain development, and regulatory alignment, leveraging the UK's experience to help New Zealand harness its wind resources and drive economic growth while addressing climate challenges.
