UNOC-3 sets themes for 2025 ocean action panels

The UN Secretariat has finalised ten themes for Ocean Action Panels at the Third UN Ocean Conference (UNOC-3) in June 2025, focusing on SDG 14 implementation. The themes cover sustainable fisheries, marine pollution reduction, ecosystem restoration and ocean-based economies, among others. Member States have been invited to contribute input and suggest panel experts by 15 November. The high-level conference, co-hosted by Costa Rica and France, aims to accelerate ocean conservation and sustainable use, engaging stakeholders from governments, NGOs, academia and the private sector.
