World's first integrated offshore wind and seaweed farm to open later this year

Simply Blue Group, a developer focused on the blue economy and climate action, has partnered with the North Sea Farm 1 Project to establish the world's inaugural commercial-scale seaweed farm within an offshore wind farm, located off the Dutch coast in the North Sea. Scheduled for deployment in autumn 2024, this pioneering initiative aims to utilise seaweed's capacity for carbon sequestration and oxygen production, offering a sustainable solution to climate change and ocean acidification.
